After School Club Leader at Flycheese Studio:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a knack for engaging with individuals with autism?
Flycheese Studio is seeking an After School Club Leader to join our dynamic team. We think someone with experience in support work would be great for this role. We will train up the successful applicant to fulfil the role.
Position: After School Club Leader
Location: Flycheese Studio, [Location], [City]
Hours: 4-7pm (3 evenings per week) + 4 hours on Saturday
Target Group: Autistic young people of school age
About Us:
At Flycheese Studio, we provide a creative haven for autistic young people, offering a range of activities including digital art, prop design, animation, filmmaking, and video gaming. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every individual can thrive.
Job Description:
- Lead workshops with up to 8 young people, divided into two groups, having oversight of a workshop facilitator
- Liaise with parents/supporters and the local authority to ensure the well-being and progress of participants
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the studio environment.
- Provide support and guidance to young people, fostering their creativity and social skills.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of participants.
- Actively participate in training sessions covering safeguarding digital art, animation, and other relevant areas
- Safeguarding responsibilities
- Report to Studio Manager
- Organise taster sessions
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people with autism or as a support worker is preferred.
- Ability to learn and adapt, with a strong aptitude for problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for working with diverse individuals and communities.
- Willingness to undergo necessary training and development.
- Experience with diverse communication methods is advantageous.
Salary:
£18 per hour
